This site presents a study of some key dimensional features of the cars on the european market. The dimensions considered characteristics are length, width, height and wheel-base, and are compared with the golden section, or by the number φ = 1.618, from which the various KG golden ratios. Such relationships impact so often decisive on the pleasantness of a general stylistic line of a car, and for this reason are identified by the term **Automotive Key Golden Ratio (KG):**

**R1 is the ratio Width / Height****R2 is the ratio Length / Width****R3 is the ratio Length / Wheelbase**

The golden ratio KG

- KG1 indicator is obtained by dividing R1 with the number of the golden ratio φ = 1.618 (rounded to three decimal places)
- KG2 indicator is obtained by comparing R2 with the number of the golden ratio φ = 1.618 (rounded to three decimal places)
- KG3 indicator is obtained by dividing R3 with the number of the golden ratio φ = 1.618 (rounded to three decimal places)
- KG general index is obtained by inserting a simple algorithm in the three previous reports and therefore can be considered the indicator that binds the overall proportions of a car to the number φ = 1.618: therefore, the more the value of KG is high, the more you approaches the ideal ratio φ of the golden ratio.

### The results of the calculation of KG

KG ranges from a minimum of 78.33% and a maximum of 99.98%: in 2016, the best results correspond to those cars that have achieved a value> 99%, which are:

**HYUNDAI I10 (KG 99,98%)**

** FIAT PANDA (KG 99,66%)**

** KIA PICANTO (KG 99,66%)**

** SUZUKI JIMNY (99,65%)**

** FIAT 500 (99,64%)**

The results of individual indicators appear in the corresponding pages **KG1, KG2, KG3.**
